The Island Uniform is a curated collection of kimono-inspired linen and satin cardigans that reimagines contemporary resortwear through the lens of Sri Lanka’s most iconic landscapes. Designed as wearable memories of place, the collection translates coastal calm, hill-country mist, and historic elegance into fluid, lightweight silhouettes crafted for modern, effortless dressing. Each piece is constructed with breathable natural fabrics and soft, movement-led tailoring, offering versatility across beachwear, travel layering, and elevated everyday styling. Rooted in the traditional kimono structure and reinterpreted for tropical living, The Island Uniform presents a refined balance between ease and sophistication. Every cardigan is named after a distinct Sri Lankan destination, transforming the collection into a narrative map of the island where clothing becomes both experience and expression, capturing the rhythm, mood, and quiet luxury of Sri Lanka in wearable form.
The Casual Jeans Look
For Colombo’s heat, I always gravitate toward lightweight fabrics. The Galle Linen Cardigan from Si Ceylon is exactly that it layers effortlessly without feeling heavy, which is essential in this climate.
My go to casual styling approach is to throw it over a simple top with wide leg or relaxed denim. It feels modern, effortless, and put together without trying too hard. I usually take cues from the cardigan’s tones when building the base outfit, which keeps everything feeling balanced and intentional.
For makeup, I keep things minimal. A light tinted moisturiser, groomed brows, and a touch of mascara are enough. I prefer to let the outfit speak for itself.

The Colour Pop Look
The second look features the Norwood Linen Cardigan, styled over a neutral base of cream, white, or beige. When the foundation of the outfit is kept minimal, a stronger-toned cardigan becomes the focal point of the entire look. I prefer wearing it untied for an easy, relaxed silhouette that feels effortless yet intentional.
This is where I like to introduce a bold lip. It subtly picks up the tones of the cardigan and instantly ties the whole look together one detail, but a strong impact.
The Norwood Linen Cardigan, from Si Ceylon works beautifully in this styling approach, perfect for a relaxed afternoon tea or for elevating everyday loungewear into something more considered and refined.

The Elevated Evening Look
The final look features the Weligama Satin Cardigan, and this is my personal favourite. The black or champagne satin kimono-inspired cardigan layered over a slip dress feels naturally elegant it doesn’t try too hard, which is exactly what makes it work. I like to finish the look with strappy sandals and statement earrings to complete the silhouette.

For makeup, I lean into a more polished finish. A luminous base, softly defined eyes, and either a nude or deeper lip depending on the tone of the cardigan. The satin fabric catches light beautifully, so I always mirror that effect with a healthy, glowing complexion.
